Tanya was born in Okinawa, Japan and moved to Tucson when she was 2.5 years old. She was raised knowing there was a God and knew of Jesus but did not fully understand what a relationship with Him meant. She grew up attending church on and off through out her life, but didn’t fully commit her life to Christ until April of 2008 after she started attending Calvary Tucson.
Tanya remembers those first encounters at Calvary, “I was having some personal issues in my life when a friend invited us to go to Calvary. I was hesitant at first but started going and that first teaching I heard was a smack in the head. It was like that teaching was meant specifically for me. You hear people make those remarks a lot, but when you actually go through something like it, it’s a whole new ball game. For the next three services I attended, I left in tears because it felt like the Lord was talking directly to me. I will never forget those moments.”
Tanya has served on staff in the Media Ministry since 2013 and enjoys everything that the Lord has shown her and she is excited to see what the Lord will bring in the coming years.
“I love being part of the Media Ministry because we get to pretty much be part of every ministry going on in the church. We get to see the behind the scenes of how God uses each ministry for His glory.”
Tanya spends her free time raising her twin girls with her husband, Keith. She enjoys listening to worship music from Rend Collective and JJ Heller, among others.
