Donnie Back, Jr.

Donnie was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He began attending Calvary Tucson at the age of 12 with his parents. After the death of his grandmother, who loved Jesus and would tell everyone about Him, he began to follow Christ at the age of 15.

He realized he had a heart for kids and began serving in Children’s Ministry at Calvary Tucson’s West Campus. By the age of 17, he was teaching 4th and 5th graders alongside his future wife Amanda.

Donnie married Amanda in the now, East Kids Sanctuary in 2001 and have 5 kids. He worked at Raytheon since the age of 19 and left in July of 2023 after 23 years.

Through life’s challenges, he has realized God is always faithful. Even though Donnie didn’t have plans on starting another job right away, he knew God was calling him to something new.

Three days after he gave Raytheon his notice, he was asked to become the Kids Ministry Pastor. There, he serves alongside his wife Amanda who is the West Campus Kids Ministry Director.
