Sound Engineer Team Lead

Job Description:

The Calvary Tucson sound engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance and setup of the EAST main sanctuary sound system as well as oversee all other areas at both campuses involving sound amplification. The engineer must be proficient in quality audio mixing of Calvary Tucson worship teams, the teaching pastor and general troubleshooting. The position involves sound support of main services, weddings, funerals and special events as determined by the pastoral overseer.

Hours / Week: Full Time Salary
Salary: Experience Based, start $48K+
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vacation Pastoral

Primary Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Minimum 15 hours/week

  • EAST Main Service Start Times
    o Saturday, 2:30PM-7:45PM
    o Sunday, 7:00AM-12:30PM
    o Wednesday, 3:30PM-7:45PM
  • Record all services to USB flash drive on mixer board and upload to shared Google Drive folder

Remaining hours

  • Support other church events such as Pastor’s Conference, Resurrection Celebration, weddings, funerals, Calvary Christian School holiday plays, associated concerts and other events as needed
  • Team building and training of additional volunteer sound board operators
  • Design, repair, maintenance, installation of equipment for both campuses as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness / organizing media rooms / sound booths / storage areas
  • Support existing media team staff with projects and activities

Required Proficiencies:

  • Minimum associates degree in audio engineering or equivalent experience
  • Highly Motivated to Learn and Serve
  • Mechanical/Electrical Skills for Repair / Install of Audio Equipment
  • Clear Communication
  • Digital board operation, routing and preset setup
  • Audio Troubleshooting
  • Recording and Audio Post-Production Expertise
  • Mic placement, feedback control, EQ, compression, gating, gain staging, crossover, speaker delays, white noise / system tuning, audio system design, wireless device setup, soldering and cable installation

Web / Network Administrator

Job Description:

The administrator’s primary responsibility is develop and maintain a high quality websites and mobile apps to provide on-demand media, communication about events, church life and organization. The administrator will develop and maintain high quality wired and wireless networks for Calvary Tucson’s EAST and WEST campuses. Ensuring network uptime for Calvary Tucson ministries usage of internet and point to point transmissions is a top priority.

Knowledge in IT, video editing, audio systems and/or graphic design considered a plus.

Hours / Week: Full Time
Pay: Experience Based, Starts $55K+ / year
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vacation
Pastoral Overseer: Scott Billings

Primary Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Minimum 2 hours/week

  • Staff Meetings, Tuesdays, 8:30AM-10:30AM

Remaining hours

  • Weekly uploads of on-demand content to website and mobile app
  • Generating writing content and optimizing desktop/mobile webpages
  • Updating with current events and organizational changes
  • Solving code problems across platforms
  • Management of the following items:
    o Podcast feeds, domains, website backups, SEO, WordPress updates, iOS and Android updates, on-demand media from live services
  • Team building and training of additional volunteers for support
  • Manage the AWS server for on-demand media content and associated backups as needed
  • On-call support of network systems at EAST & WEST campuses
  • Support and ensure network uptime for live streaming of services
  • Support REACH Radio networking needs as required
  • Interface with Internet Service Providers for maintenance, downtime, upgrades
  • Maintain backups of border router disk images and network structures
  • Maintain network security at both campuses
  • Repair / replace networking equipment as required
  • Scale existing networks to meet unique needs for special events such as conferences, concerts and video satellite streams
  • Active attendee at Calvary Tucson

Required Proficiencies:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Associates or higher education in the field of web development
  • Mobile app development/maintenance
  • C, C#, PHP, Javascript or equivalent experience
  • Database, scripting and content management
  • Clear communication and excellent writing skills
  • Google SEO strategy to increase website traffic
  • Photoshop & basic video editing Skills
  • Planning Center Services, Resources and Registration Modules
  • Familiarity with PC/Mac and network systems
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    o Windows MCSE, CompTIA A+ Certification or CCnA
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Basic mechanical installation skills
  • Experience with Data Cabling / Computer Facilities maintenance
  • Proven skills in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation
